Home remedies for swollen gums
Salt water rinse
Rinse your mouth with warm salt water a few times a day, including in the morning and at night, and after meals. The salt water can help reduce inflammation and irritation, and neutralize the mouth’s pH.
Cold compress
Apply an ice pack or cold compress to your face to reduce swelling and inflammation. The cold compress constricts blood vessels in the area, which can help numb the area and relieve pain.
Aloe vera
Aloe vera has antibacterial, antifungal, antiseptic, and anti-inflammatory properties that can help reduce swelling and redness, and soothe gums.
Turmeric paste
Mix 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric with a little water to make a paste, then apply it to your gums and rub it in gently for five minutes. Rinse off the residue with warm water.
Hydrogen peroxide
Mix equal parts 1/4 cup of 3% hydrogen peroxide and 1/4 cup of water, swish it around in your mouth for 30 seconds, and then spit it out. You can do this a few times a week
